Who we are

Muthla and Denis are experienced entrepreneurs with more than 20 years background in growing tech startups from early stages to IPO.

Above all, their story is about friendship. They met in 2018 at MIT during their Executive MBA program. They found out they had similar experiences around discriminations in the startup world. They also shared their frustration of how the VC world functions.

After helping some companies independently as Advisors, they decided to join forces and create a company consisting in a program and a fund to support the community of underrepresented founders.

Our Thesis

Investors are looking for the next unicorn which will bring a 10x exit. To edge their risk, they rely on people who are from the same colleges and communities and have been already highly successful. This kills diversity and doesn't offer equal opportunities.

However, a lot of companies with lower potential (3 to 6 x) or more diverse founders could be successful and deserve investors attention too.

That's what TheUnderdogs is all about: create an ecosystem of investors and entrepreneurs who believe in that.
